Trilogy Golf Club at Ocala Preserve Receives Warm Welcome from Members & Media
Trilogy® Golf Club at Ocala Preserve officially opened its doors to the public this month, and in the weeks leading up to the opening, we invited Members, media, and guests to a series of special events. Course designers and legends of the game Tom Lehman & Tripp Davis even joined us for a few days to celebrate.
Members and special guests were the first to play the course at this sold-out event on January 9th. A total of 48 attendees enjoyed continental breakfast to start the day, and then played the par 54 Skills Course, followed by a hosted reception and prize ceremony.
On February 1st, Trilogy Members and select media received a rare opportunity to ask Tom and Tripp questions about their careers and inspiration for designing Trilogy Golf Club at Ocala Preserve. Members and guests packed the house at this exclusive reception, and media participated in a designated Q&A session afterward.
Media Golf Event
Fifteen journalists from local and national publications were treated to a private preview of the course on February 2nd. Tom and Tripp mingled with each group of golfers; writers represented publications including Club and Resort Business, Golf Advisor, Golfweek, Ocala Star-Banner and Southern Golf Central Magazine.
Later the same day, Tom and Tripp hosted a rare behind-the-scenes public tour of Trilogy Golf Club at Ocala Preserve. During the 90-minute tour, they discussed Tom’s playing career and the design vision, while hitting a few shots and sharing their passion for the Skills and Players Courses with more than 200 guests.
“Set the Record” Tournament
Last but not least, our public “Set the Record” tournament was held on February 6th. Dan Cole earned the lowest score of 64 of the day, establishing the first official course record at Trilogy Golf Club at Ocala Preserve and earning a spot on our future Wall of Fame!
We are very proud of the golf course and the warm welcome it has received. Trilogy Golf Club at Ocala Preserve offers a new experience, with all the requisite challenges of the game – on a footprint one-third the size of traditional courses.
