One of the greatest joys of the holiday season is giving to those who are less fortunate than us.  Trilogy members are generous throughout the year, but many make an extra effort to reach out during the holiday season, when the need is often most strongly felt.  Read on to discover just a few of the ways that Trilogy members are making the holidays brighter for those in need.

Encanterra’s Community Christmas Stroll
The members of Encanterra have a festive way of making sure that there are toys under the tree for underprivileged children in Arizona.  Inspired by the much-loved Christmas Stroll of Nantucket Island, Encanterra members will be taking part in the 2nd Annual Encanterra Christmas Stroll this year.   On the evening of December 4th, they will gather together to take a sunset stroll – complete with caroling – through the neighborhood and up to their community club, La Casa.  All members are encouraged to bring a festive mood, a favorite beverage – and most importantly, an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots.  When the strollers arrive at La Casa, they’ll be met by a group of Marines who will gladly accept the community’s generous donations for children in need. After making their donations, members are welcome to enjoy light appetizers while decorating the tree in the Grande Living Room.  Many happy memories will be made – for the children who receive gifts from ‘Santa,’ and for the members of this community, as they celebrate an annual holiday tradition with their neighbors.  If you’re a member of Encanterra, you can find full details about the Christmas Stroll on

Holiday Raffles, Food Drives, and More at Trilogy at Vistancia
The members of Trilogy at Vistancia are busy, busy, busy as they do their part to make the holidays merry for those in need.  The Trilogy at Vistancia Women’s Club (TAVWC) is holding their Annual Holiday Home Tour, along with a Silent Auction of beautifully decorated Christmas Trees and Menorah, a Silent Gift Auction featuring fabulous prizes, and – newly added for this year’s festivities – a Holiday Boutique of items that will make perfect presents for those on your holiday shopping list.  All proceeds of the tour, raffles, and boutique will benefit Faith House, a west valley shelter for women and children in crisis.  If you’re a Vistancia member, you can purchase tickets at the Member Services desk.

Members Ted and Lana Friedman are also organizing a food drive for St. Mary’s Food Bank, and they’d like to remind their friends and neighbors that “this is the season for extra caring and sharing!”  Now through December 20th, members are encouraged to bring food or checks (made out to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance) to the Kiva Club’s Member Services desk.  Most-wanted food items include tuna fish, peanut butter, canned stews and soups, canned veggies and fruit, dry pasta, rice, and beans.  Keep in mind that for every $1 donated, 7 nutritious meals can be provided for hungry men, women, and children.  During the holidays in 2010 the Trilogy at Vistancia community donated a grand total of 15,429 meals, and they plan to be even more generous this year!

But wait…there’s more holiday cheer to go around at Vistancia!  The 7th Annual Toys for Tots Fundraiser & Party will be held on Friday, December 2nd from 7:00pm – 9:00pm.  Last year, the community collected over 1,700 toys and $1,900.  The goal this year is to collect 1,800 toys and $2,500.  This is a great opportunity to help underprivileged children and to support our troops!  If you live in the Trilogy at Vistancia community, please bring a new, unwrapped toy or a check made out to the US Marine Corp Toys for Tots Fundraiser and Party. The Marines will be there to speak briefly about where and how they distribute the toys.  There will also be free drawings for everyone who attends.  Every member is invited, and is encouraged to bring an appetizer to share, along with your Toys for Tots donation.  There is also a Toys for Tots Donation Box at the Kiva Club where you can bring donations at any time, now through December 12th, if you’re not able to attend the party.  The Marines will pick up the toys on the morning of December 13th.  Thank you for your generosity!

Tree of Giving at Trilogy Monarch Dunes
The members of Trilogy Monarch Dunes will be making a list and checking it twice to make sure that local children in need have a special present to open this holiday season.  If you’re a member of the Monarch Dunes community, before you head out to the mall, stop by the concierge desk and check out the Big Brothers Big Sisters Tree of Giving.  Each ornament on this tree has the name and age of a child and his or her preferred gift on it.  Please feel free to choose an ornament, purchase a gift (with a value of $20 or less), and place your wrapped gift under the BBBS Tree of Giving with the tag taped on the top so that it is ready for the child.  Please check out your ornament with the concierge so that we can keep track of who is responsible for each gift, ensuring that no child is left without a present to open at the BBBS Holiday Party. The deadline to bring in your gift is 5:00pm on Sunday, November 27th.  Thank you for supporting this very important program!

Gather for a Great Cause at Trilogy at Redmond Ridge
The members of Trilogy at Redmond Ridge are gathering together to make a difference this holiday season.  On Saturday, December 10th, the Pat Harris Trilogy Guild will once again host the HO-HO Holiday Brunch at the Cascade Club.  There will be tasty food and festive fun for the whole family.  Kimmie the Elf will entertain grandchildren and grandparents alike…and what holiday brunch would be complete without a visit from Santa?  (Pictures with Santa will begin at 10:15am.)  All proceeds from this wonderful event will support uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s Hospital, ensuring that children whose parents can’t afford their hospital care will still get treatment.  Trilogy Redmond Ridge members, please sign up at the Member Services Desk by December 7th.

Tis the Season for Pancakes and Syrup at Trilogy Orlando
This year, the members of Trilogy Orlando will be making spirits bright while passing the maple syrup to their friends and neighbors.  On Saturday, December 3rd, they’ll gather for some merry mingling during their Community Pancake Breakfast in the Morning Glory Model from 8:00am to 10:00am. Those who attend the breakfast are asked to “bring a smile to child” through their donations of new, unwrapped toys for children ages newborn through 13 years, or cash donations for Toys for Tots.  Every generous donation will give a child hope this holiday season.  Trilogy Orlando members, please register for the pancake breakfast through the Events page of

Secret Santas at Trilogy Rio Vista
Rio Vista members have an extra chance to play Santa this year, as Rio Vista Community Services is sponsoring the “Christmas 94571 – Secret Santa Gift Program” to benefit those less fortunate during the holiday season.  Now through December 4th, come to the Vista Club to pick an ornament from the tree in the Grand Living Room.  Each ornament will have an identification number and gift request on the back.  Go shopping, wrap the present, and label it with the identification number so that it can brighten the day of a local child in need.  Wrapped and labeled gifts must be taken by December 4, 2011 to either the Police Department (Monday through Thursday, 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.) or the Fire Department (Monday through Sunday, 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.)  Thank you for doing your part to spread holiday cheer!

Have a happy and healthy holiday season!
